藍寶石殼蓋加工模組研發聯盟成立

目前國際知名手機與可攜式3C品牌大廠皆已積極導入藍寶石基材應用領域研發，藉此以取得市場先機。由於藍寶石材質具有耐磨、耐刮的特性，更因隨著產品的科技美學需求，以及人體工學的舒適感覺提升，使得殼蓋設計由原本全平面設計轉向於曲面、圓弧等2D至2.5D的設計應用，進而達到高品質的美觀與耐用產品開發。

因藍寶石材料硬度僅次於鑽石導致傳統加工上的困難，造成藍寶石材料之外形加工與表面曲面拋光製程良率小於50％，導致產品供應鏈產能不足，造成新一世代應用產品無法替代。

因應未來手持式與可攜式應用產品裝置的市場需求，以及解決未來藍寶石殼蓋成形技術及產能良率問題，經濟部工業局藉由金屬機電傳產維新推動計畫，委由金屬中心籌組『藍寶石殼蓋加工模組研發聯盟』，邀請具有相關技術能量的廠商包括振動設備模組的丸榮機械、精密加工的祥旺機械、研磨材料的柳松鑽石與精密設備業者承澔科技等參與。

該聯盟成立後，期透過建構跨領域研發合作，藉此提升良率至90％以上，並增加超過原有產能3倍以上，及共同開發曲面觸控面板保護蓋，協助廠商投入高值化精微金屬零組件生產，並積極打入國際大廠供應鏈體系，使手持式與可攜式產品朝高值化發展。預估整個產業鏈在加工設備與模組端，每年可創造產值2億元。在面板廠方面，除了可降低50％以上的設備及刀具耗材投資成本外，每年於可攜式面板產值效益更可高達台幣15億元以上。
